Ginger Snap Crafts: DIY photo frame using your Silhouette Cameo {tutorial}

DIY photo frame using your Silhouette Cameo {tutorial}

DIY photo frame with your Silhouette Cameo

On Friday I posted a giveaway for LDS Temple Wall Art.
If you haven’t enter yet go {HERE}.
I promised a tutorial on how I made the frame today.
It was super easy!

First up I went to my Silhouette library & found this cute frame shape (see below).

I opened up that shape with my Silhouette software, & then I enlarged it to the size I wanted. I added a rectangle in the middle that was just a little smaller than my temple print. This would be my frame opening. As you can tell this frame was HUGE!  So I had to cut my vinyl in two pieces.

Next I pieced my vinyl together on a piece of very thin plywood that I bought at Lowes.
Using a jigsaw my hubby cut it out using the vinyl piece as pattern.

Then I removed the vinyl, sanded the wood & painted it.

To put my picture in the frame I just used some washi tape
to hold the picture to the frame. I know this isn’t very fancy! ha! Buuut it worked.
TIP: You can cut a piece of poster board to same size as your picture
and tape that so you don’t have to put tape directly on your picture.

I think it looks great sitting on the mantle! Smile
