Let's get this party started!

monday's mom {review & a giveaway} CLOSED

A few weeks ago I was asked if I would
like to review & host a giveaway for
 Creativity for Kids'
{Winner of The National Parenting Center's Seal of Approval
& FunFare- All Stars Award}
A $19.99 value!
I couldn't e-mail back fast enough with a "YES, I'd love to!"
{The BeSt news of all, TwO lucky Ginger Snaps followers will be receiving one, too.  Wahoo!}

{Just so you know, I was given a Shrinky Dinks Monster Lab to review,
I was not compensated in any other way & all opinions are completely mine &/or my kiddos. :)}

Yes, my kiddos were super excited when this box arrived in the mail.

It was stuffed full with the following:
50+ pre-cut Shrinky Dinks
assorted chenille stems
craft glue
assorted foam character stands
clear plastic character stands
wiggly eyes
jump rings
double-sided foam squares
double-sided sticky dots
Faber-Castell color EcoPencils
pencil sharpener
brads
3-D pop-up playscape {measures 16" x 7 3/4" x 6"}
& very detailed instructions

As most of you know I have 5 kiddos.  Ages almost 2 to 14.
This was a good nap time project to do while my little man was asleep.
As the box states it's for ages 7 to 97. So not a good project for the little ones,
but perfect for my 4 older kiddos age 4, 8, 10 and 14. :)
Love that there were plenty of shrinky dinks to go around.
{I even got to color some.  Wahoo! :)}

My kids laid out the kind of monster they wanted to make.
Then they colored, colored, colored. :)

Now the fun part!  Little man was even awake for this!
We put them in the oven & watched them shrink!
So cool!  They even saved one to shrink when Dad got home. ;)
We didn't want him to miss out!

Here's our finished Monster Lab.

This was an {awesome} summer time craft project to do with the kiddos.
Loved, loved, loved it!  So fun!

Are you ready to color, bake and shrink the most creative {& cReEpY} creatures ever?

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!

fab friday {Where do I get my vinyl?}

I've been asked a few times
So, where do you buy your vinyl?

I buy all my vinyl that I cut with my Silhouette at USCutter.  {Love them!}
You could use this vinyl with just about any vinyl cutter out there!

The vinyl that I use most is Oracal 631.
It works awesome!
It's great for all of your indoor projects.
It has a nice matte finish & comes in a wide variety of colors.
I also used it on my front door, and so far so good.
{Love it!}

Welcome- door vinyl

The cast vinyl I use is called Oracal 751.
It comes in lots of fun colors, too.
Right now I only carry the white, but I'd love to try more colors.
This vinyl is awesome!  It's the one that can be run through a dishwasher.

Set of Personalized Cups

I use HEXIS Chalkboard vinyl for all my chalkboard labels.
I love it because it is thick, works great & cuts super easy.

Chalkboard Labels: Circles (6)

Now at the fancy craft places
you'll get vinyl cut in nice sheets for you.
But hey, I'm crafty,
& I'm pretty handy with a pair of scissors. :)
So I learned that if I buy it in bulk
& cut my own sheets I can save LOTS of money! Wahoo!
{And better yet make lots more stuff! Double Wahoo!}

I buy my vinyl in big rolls that are 24 inches by 10 yards.
{It will last for.ev.er.}
Then I just cut my sheets as I need them.
You've probably noticed {if you used Oracal vinyl before}
that the backing paper has a grid printed on the back.
So this makes it super easy to cut a straight line....no problems. :)
At USCutter you can buy a
24 inch by 10 yard roll of Oracal 631 for under $21{Wow!}

You've gotta love their flat shipping rate of
$9.99 on ground shipping to the 48 states, too.
{Double Wow!}

Go check them out!
{You'll be glad you did!}

{Just so you know, I was not compensated for this post.   These are my honest opinions!
I really do love USCutter,  and IF they wanted to sponsor my blog
or let me sample some of their fabulous vinyl I'd be more than willing. ;) hehe}

Don't forget to enter my giveaway for some super cute {USA blocks}.

4th of July Block Set (USA & flag blocks)

Today is the last day to enter!

Have a great weekend!

take a look {popcorn bowl}

I'm so excited today to be guest blogging over
on Made it on Monday for Jill
who is having a blast at vacation bible school right now. :)

I'm sharing my tutorial on how to make {personalized dishwasher safe cups} for your family.
So it you missed my post on that one head over to Made it on Monday & check it out. :)

Since I love cast vinyl so much I couldn't resist sharing one more of my cast vinyl projects with you!
{Remember cast vinyl is super cool because it can be run through a dishwasher.  Sweet!}
The possibilities are endless!

Here's how I made this {super cute, easy & cheap} popcorn bowl.

I got my bowl for a dollar at Walmart! {Didn't I say cheap!?} :)
Then cut the word {popcorn} in cast vinyl using my Silhouette.

Applied the vinyl.
Remember my tip when working with cast vinyl.
Let the vinyl sit for 5-10 minutes before removing the transfer tape.
It seems to stick better that way.
Then take the transfer tape off nice & slow. :)

There you go!
A very cute {popcorn} bowl.

Wait!  Something is missing!
There it is- the popcorn!  Yum! :)

OK...I've got a BoNuS idea for you today!
{Look at this super cute gift idea!}
Add some microwave popcorn, some M&M's, fun tissue paper and a movie.
Tie it up in a gift bag with a ribbon & a tag.

There you go {movie night in a bowl}.
Enjoy!

{Since I had so much fun last week giving out some FrEe vinyl!}
The first 3 FoLlOwErs to comment on this post
{with their e-mail address so I can contact you!}
will receive the word {popcorn} cut in cast vinyl.
Then you can make your very own super cute popcorn bowl!

Don't forget!
Go enter my {USA block} giveaway.
