I had the amazing opportunity to work with Champions for Kids again
to get the word out about their #BagItForward Simple Service Project.

How it works: This month #Champions4Kids is encouraging people to gather new school supplies to support a local classroom, school or charity. Their goal is to mobilize 20 million people by 2020!

This project is important to me because as a mom to five kiddos I know how important it is for children to be have school supplies & be prepared for the first day of school.  I know there are many children who come from families who can’t afford school supplies.

Our family decided to make two back to school donation kits for two children in our community.  So we headed to Walmart to pick up some school supplies.

I love that school supplies are marked way down for back to school.
A little money goes a very long way….for just over $30 I was able to get all of this:

elmer's school glue

This project is something just about everyone can participate in.
Every little bit helps make a great first day of school for a child in need.

To make our back to school kits I picked up two shopping bags at Walmart.
Then we filled them with the school supplies we had picked up.

#Champion4Kids

Each back to school donation kit had:
4 bottles of Elmer’s School Glue
4 packages of Elmer’s glue sticks
a pair of scissors
watercolors
markers
1 inch binder
5 plastic folders with pockets & brads
1 package of colored pencils
pencil box
1 box of crayons
1 package of pencils
3 spiral notebooks
1 package of notebook paper

school supply donation kits

Our family decided to donate our back to school kits
to our local United Way Stuff the Bus Campaign.
We chose them because they are such a great organization,
& they help many local children in our community.
