Nothing says summertime more to me than an #icecreamfloat! Growing up each summer my dad would play softball, and if he hit a homerun during the game we would drop by the store & pick up the some A&W root beer and ice cream. Then when we got home we would have root beer floats to celebrate! It’s one of my very favorite family traditions, and lucky for us my dad hit a lot of homeruns! ha! :) My dad’s favorite ice cream is butter pecan. So keeping with the “dad” theme, I decided to combine the two to make these yummy Butter Pecan Root Beer Floats.
Now that I have kiddos of my own we still continue the root beer float tradition around our house, although we don’t hit too many homeruns around here! ha! ;) We usually celebrate with root beer floats for things like good grades, family night or just for fun in the summer! Well, this week we were craving some root beer floats. So we decided to run to the store to pick up some ice cream and root beer. Before I left I printed off a coupon for $1.00 off any two Edy’s Ice Cream products. Yay!

(At first I was looking for A&W TEN but my Walmart didn’t have any. :( So if you are trying to cut back on calories & sugar try to find A&W TEN at your Walmart. You can pair it with Edy’s Slow Churned Vanilla Ice Cream for a “better for you” ice cream float.)
I was able to find lots of A&W root beer! I love the shape of their bottles! Aren’t they cute?! They’d be perfect for a summer party!
Anyways, I paired the A&W root beer with the Edy’s Grand Ice Cream Butter Pecan Blast! At first I wasn’t sure how the combination would taste because I usually stick with plain vanilla ice cream with my root beer, but it seriously was the best ice cream float I’ve ever had! It was so yummmmmmy! :)
As you can tell, I wasn’t the only one that thought so! Everyone enjoyed their Butter Pecan Root Beer Floats made with A&W root beer and Edy’s Ice Cream! They were a hit! :)
