It’s that time again…time for another awesome Silhouette promotion! Yay! This month Silhouette has some great deals on their ah-mazing machines ~ the Cameo & the Portrait plus all of their heat transfer products are on sale!
I used some of their flocked heat transfer material to make this DIY pillow for our bed! I think it turned out so cute, and it was so easy to make. Keep reading to find our how I did it….plus I have another Silhouette Portrait giveaway for one of YOU!!!! Yay!!! :)
This month’s Cameo & Portrait bundles include a heat transfer kit. I was lucky enough to get to try one out! Inside your kit you’ll find all of this fun stuff to work with! :)
I decided to try out the white flocked heat transfer material to add the perfect touch to my DIY pillow. I used this pocket pillow tutorial to make my pillow, and then I cut the “&” sign in the Gentle Redhead font with my Silhouette using the white flocked heat transfer material. The biggest thing to remember is you need to mirror your image before your cut it out. You want it to look backwards! :)
You don’t need a cutting mat to cut the heat transfer material. You just feed it into your machine shiny side down & then cut. After I cut it out with my Silhouette I weeded out the negative spaces.
When I was finished weeding it looked like this:
Then you’ll lay the heat transfer flocked material face down on your pillow. See how the “&” sign looks correct now. Then you’ll place a piece of material over the top, & then iron with a hot iron. My heat transfer material went on pretty quickly! Then you’ll pull the shiny paper off slowly. If it doesn’t stick, put it back down & iron a little longer. Then you’re done!
All of these ah-mazing promotions can be found here.
