Have you heard that Monsters University is in theaters right now? Have you seen it yet? We plan on seeing it at the drive-in in a few weeks. (A visit to the drive-in is a summer time tradition for us!) Anyways, to get the kiddos excited about the movie we decided to have a fun Monsters University party one afternoon last week! We wanted to do a monster craft, play with some Monsters University toys & have a healthy drink & lunch. We decided to make our own monster cups, and then after that we had a fun monster themed lunch with Juicy Juice!
Before we could par-tay we needed to head to Walmart to pick up a few things first! Do you like our helper? Ha! We grabbed this adorable Sulley plush toy to be a “special” guest at our party, & we also picked up some Juicy Juice, macaroni & cheese & fruit snacks. What was super neat was that all the food had Monsters University on the packaging! Sweet! :)
When it was time for our party the first thing the kiddos worked on was their monster cups. I just cut out a bunch of different eyes, mouths, arms, legs, hair & monster bodies with my craft cutter using vinyl. Vinyl is just like a big sticker. It comes in a bunch of different colors. If you have a digital cutting tool you can cut vinyl into just about any shape you can think of. It’s awesome. :) If you don’t have a digital cutting tool you could use contact paper & scissors or stickers to make your cups.
My kiddos are pretty good at applying vinyl. They have seen me do it a lot! ha! Vinyl comes in 3 parts ~ the backing paper, the vinyl & then a thinner transfer tape. Basically you just take off the backing paper, put your vinyl on your cup vinyl side down and then you’ll rub the vinyl onto your cup by gently rubbing it with your hand. Then you slowly take off the transfer tape. You can see my daughter doing that below.
After your transfer paper is off, you’re done! So easy! You can layer different color vinyl “monster body parts” until your monster is just the way you want it!
After we finished our craft, it was time for some Monster lunch! We cleaned off the table, and we used our giant Sulley plush that we had found as Walmart for our centerpiece. ;)
We found all this Monsters University food items at our Walmart. Juicy Juice was even on roll back for only $2.68 for a 64 oz. jug! Awesome!
We love Juicy Juice around here! It taste great plus it’s a healthy drink because it is 100% juice, and it doesn’t have any high fructose corn syrup! Yay!
Juicy Juice has lots of vitamin C, & each cup of Juicy Juice counts as 2 servings of fruit. There are also no added artificial flavors or preservatives. :) Annnnd if that is not enough reason to buy Juicy Juice, right now they are having a Juicy Juice Monster-Sized Sweepstake on juicyjuice.com. You can enter by redeeming your product codes that your can find on Juicy Juice products.
Our family won a free Disney Music download! :)
