Now to the tutorials!
I used Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition to make two super easy St. Patrick’s Day projects ~ a shamrock t-shirt & some matching shamrock glasses. Aren’t they cute? ;)
Here’s how I made the shamrock t-shirt. {You can see how I made the lucky pennant banner here.}
Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition has rhinestone tools that convert designs into rhinestone templates so you can create your own rhinestone designs. I decided to use this feature not for making a rhinestone design but to make a cute polka dotted stencil for my daughter’s shamrock t-shirt. I love polka dots. :)
I used a shamrock image from Silhouette’s online store. Once I had the image sized to where I wanted it I clicked the “Open the Rhinestone Window” button. (See the big arrow! ha! You’ll click that button.) :)
Then the rhinestone window will pop up. You can chose several different options. For this project I chose to have just the edge of my image turned into lots of dots. This was perfect for what I had in mind. Then I sent it to my Silhouette to cut into a piece of card stock.
For this project you’ll also need:
- craft paint
- paint dauber
- green t-shirt
Here’s the step by step.
One ~ Make your stencil.
Two ~ Put a piece of card stock inside the shirt just incase the paint bleeds through.
Three ~ Put your stencil where you’d like it to be.
Four ~ Gently dab paint onto the shirt with the paint dauber.
Then carefully remove the stencil. You’re done. :)
Another cool thing about Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition is you can import & cut any .svg file with your Silhouette. I did a quick search online & was able to find tons of cute .svg files that I could download for FREE. Your possibilities are endless with this one! So many fun options are out there like these super cute shamrock glasses.
You can pop over to the freesvgfiles.com to download these free shamrock glasses.
Once you have them downloaded on your computer you can open them up in Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition & then click the “Open the Cut Style Window” by clicking the button by the big arrow. ;)
Once again it will give you several different options. I chose cut edge, and then I was able to cut cute shamrock glasses for all of my kiddos! Too cute!
