DIY Football T-Shirt {tutorial}

Hello! It’s Friday! Friday at our house is all about football! Wahoo! I love football season. It’s so much fun. Today I am excited to partnering with some of my favorite bloggers to bring you a fun football Friday! You’ll see links to their football inspired crafts & recipes at the end of this post. :) For my project I decided to make this easy DIY Football T-Shirt for my little man. He loves wearing it to the high school football games. So keep reading to see how I made it. :)

 

 

For this project you’ll need:
a white t-shirt
one fat quarter of brown fabric
white heat transfer vinyl
Silhouette Portrait
sewable fabric interfacing
this image from the Silhouette online store
iron
sewing needle & brown thread

First you will open up the football image in your Silhouette software. Ungroup the objects so you have the ball & lines in two separate images. Then I cut the the “lines” out with white heat transfer vinyl. The other part I cut out using brown fabric. Yes, your Silhouette can cut fabric! :) For a more detailed heat transfer tutorial go {HERE} & for a tutorial on how to cut fabric with the sewable fabric interfacing go {HERE}.

 
After I was finished cutting everything out I ironed on the white heat transfer to the brown football fabric. Then I put the football on the shirt on my t-shirt. Ironed (with a pillowcases on top!) it in place. Then I just hand stitched around the edge with brown thread. That’s it! Easy peasy! Now we are ready for the BIG game! ;)
