Ginger Snap Crafts: The DIY Blog Tour

The DIY Blog Tour

Last week I was asked by Jess from Plucky’s Second Thought to take part in The DIY Blog Tour. You can see her post {HERE}. I love getting to know other bloggers! So of course, I said yes! :) My “assignment” was to answer four questions & then introduce you to 3 more talented creative bloggers. Sounds fun, right? So here we go! :) PS I’m also sharing my favorite creative quote! Feel free to save & share it. Enjoy!

1. What am I working on?

Right now I have about 2 or 3 big projects in the works ~ which is about normal. ha! :) I’m working on a crafting “area” in our master bedroom. I’m in the process of making a giant pegboard to hold some of my craft supplies. It’s all painted, frame is cut, & the next step is hanging that bad boy up! Eek! I can’t wait! I’m also working on a DIY shutter headboard for our bed. It’s coming along awesome! I’ve painted, distressed & stained the shutters. Need to get that hung, too. I’m also working on finishing up the decorating part of our sunroom addition. I did a little shopping at Hobby Lobby this weekend. I found a cute shelf with hooks for the back door & some other knick knacks. I also found some cute frames that I need to hang up. What’s up with all this “needing to hang up” stuff? haha! ;) Anyways, I also need to finish making a HUGE DIY growth chart ruler that is going to go in the sunroom, too. I’ve had the vinyl for it for a few months. I just need to buy the wood. ;) Of course, I have all the smaller projects for the blog that I’m working on ~ October’s Happy Crafters post, an egg recipe (any suggestions?), a fall project for a huge fall blog hop I’m going to be a part of & a few other sponsored posts. As you can tell I always have a BUNCH going on! ha! PS The big projects will be on the blog, too. Just not sure when exactly! :)

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?

I try to share easy projects that anyone can do. If I can make something I know YOU can, too! :) I’m not an expert at anything but I’ll try just about everything. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t! That’s all part of it. I hope my blog, family life & home come across as down to earth, approachable & not perfect.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?

I honestly LOVE to create! It’s just something I’ve always done. My creativity & crafting increased even more once we had our own home & family. After I started blogging I’ve also realized that I love the writing, editing & posting just as much. It’s being creative but just in another way. To me it’s relaxing after a crazy day to sit in a quiet house after the kiddos have gone to bed & edit pictures. I love it! :)

4. How does your writing/ creating process work?

I am very organized (or at least I try to be!). ;) I have a day set aside each week for projects. I try to do several projects on that one day taking LOTS of pictures. Then I have an evening where I’ll edit all the pictures, & then I’ll upload them into blog posts to save as drafts. Then I’ll use another evening or early morning to write my posts. Writing seems to come the fastest to me. I try to work 2 weeks ahead at least especially for sponsored content. When I do that I enjoy blogging a whole bunch more. Deadlines make me go a little crazy! ;)

The 3 blogs I chose to feature today are 3 of my favorites. I love them personally, & their blogs are just as amazing! :)

Create It. Go!

Robyn from Create It. Go! has been my friend for almost 20 years! YES, that’s a long time! :) Annnnnd her & family moved into our neighborhood last summer. How lucky is that? :) It was just meant to be! She is the most creative person I know! I love going to her house & seeing what she’s done next! She is always changing things around! I love it! Recently she threw her daughter a DIY Paint Party. It was sooooo cute! You can see it all {HERE}.

She also has the cutest projects, & I love her printables. She is so, so talented. I love these Neon Back to School gift tags. So cute! You can read all about them {HERE}. PS I’m so jealous that she lives in Idaho! I want to move there! I just have to convince my hubby! ;)
