Hello! This morning I’m excited to be joining in another Silhouette challenge with some of my favorite bloggers. Yay! :) This month our theme is all about paper! :) I’ve shared lots of paper projects with my Silhouette, and one of my favorite things to use with paper are the Silhouette Sketch Pens. I’ve shared a Silhouette Sketch Pen tutorial before but today we are going to get fancy! ha! ;) I’m going to show you how to make a colorful quote using your Silhouette. So keep reading to see how easy it is! :)
For this project you’ll need:
your Silhouette
Silhouette Sketch Pens
white cardstock
this image from the Silhouette online store
First you’ll open up this image in your Silhouette software. Size it to fit your frame….mine was a 5x7 frame. So I made my image just a little bit smaller than that. TIP: I didn’t do a screen shot of this but make sure you highlight the quote, click object from the menu bar then ungroup to separate all the words in your image first.
Then you’ll open up the Cut Style Window by clicking the button above the arrow below.
Then by highlighting the whole image & then clicking the no cut button everything will fade. If it’s “faded” your Silhouette will not cut it, or in this case draw that part of the image.
Now you’ll select one word or phrase at at time by highlighting them, & then selecting the cut option. When you do that that set of words will have the dark lines again. Send it to your Silhouette. After you are done with that word select uncut, & then select your next word or group of words. Then repeat the steps. Use a different color Sketch Pen for each set of words you do until you have sent your entire quote over to your Silhouette. TIP: Do not remove your cardstock each time. Leave your paper in your Silhouette between pen colors. This will insure that the alignment stays perfect. :)
Soon you’ll have a fun colorful quote that looks like this! Pretty neat! :)
