How to Grow & Care for Petunias

Good morning! Happy Tuesday! I don’t know if you know this or not, but I love flowers! :) When we first got married (26 years ago TOMORROW!) I didn’t have such a green thumb. ha! I always planted pansies in the spring in Texas. Then I would wonder why they died so quickly. Pansies don’t love heat, & they really should be planted in the fall not spring. I’ve gotten just a little bit better over the years. It’s a mix of planting the right type of flowers & watering & feeding them enough, too. For the last several years, I’ve planted petunias in our front flower pots, and I just love them! They are super easy to grow & flower all summer long & into the fall. Let me show you how easy they are to take care of! :)

Good morning! How are you? The weather here has been amazing the last few days. We had forgotten how warm 70° feels like. It’s been nice to get outside and work in the yard & in the garden. DIY Cedar Window Boxes {tutorial}

Good morning! :) I just know warmer weather is just around the corner. I can feel it! :) How about you? Annnnd I am itching to get my hands in the dirt and plant some flowers! I just love flowers! I really want them everywhere around my house. In the garden, in the flower beds, in pots and in window boxes. DIY Cedar Planter Box {tutorial}

Good morning! Spring is here. Yay! It’s time to start thinking about what you’d like to plant in your flower beds & containers. This DIY Cedar Planter Box is the perfect project to tackle this time of year. It’s easy to put together and since it’s cedar, it should last for years to come. Annnnnd the wheels make it easy to move around your porch or patio. I actually made these for our last house, you’ll notice our porch is not bright blue in these pictures. ha! I actually had two of these, and before we moved I gave theses boxes to my neighbor. We just rolled them down to her house! ha! I loved the wheels. Anyways, let’s get started! I’ll show you how easy these are to make! :)

Make Your Own Polka Dot Pot {tutorial} #lilylove

Spring is here!  Yay! I am so excited to start planting flowers! I love all kinds of flowers! Around this time of year I especially love lilies. I love having them inside & outside our home. They can really brighten up a space & bring some spring in! Today I'd love to show you how to make this fun spring inspired polka dot pot.

Most of these flowers were planted last spring & fall,
so I’m super excited that most of them came back & look so pretty!
{I seriously use to kill every plant I tried to grow!}
I finally learned that plants do much better if you don’t forget to water them!

take a look {easy mother's day craft}

Mother's Day is right around the corner,so I thought I'd share this cute & easy Mother's Day gift idea that the kiddos could definitely help out with.These could also be used for Teacher Appreciation gifts, Get Well Wishes,Birthdays....use your imagination. :) 

You will need:

tissue paper

a clean tin can

scissors

photo stickers

jumbo popsicle sticks

green paint

paint brush

ribbon

green Easter grass

You will also need some pictures of flowers & leaves.

(You could just as easily free hand these, too.)

I got my clip art from DJInkers.

(Love them!)

Paint your popsicle sticks green,

and set them aside to dry.

Color your flowers.

(This is the part the kids

really like to help out on!)

Then cut out your flowers & leaves.

I printed out a message to put on the flowers,

or have your kiddos write a personalized note on each one.

(Grandma, would love that!) :)

Assemble your flowers.

I used these photo stickers

to assemble my flowers.

Love them.

Quick & easy and

no mess!

Yay! :)

Next, stuff your tin can

with left over Easter grass.

Stick your flowers into the can.

Arrange them how you want them.

Cut a piece of

tissue paper in half,

then set your can in the middle.

Gather the tissue

around the can &

tie with a piece of ribbon.

Cut about 5 strands of ribbon

using ribbon that matches

your tissue paper & flowers.

Tie a knot around your can

& curl your ribbon with a pair of scissors.

You're done!
