Good morning! As most of you know we recently built our own home. It was a process! Whew! ;) We had our final inspection a few months ago. I was so excited to have our LAST one! They came back & said everything looked great, buuuuuuuuuut we would have to add gutters before we could convert our construction loan into a conventional home loan. What??!! To say we were a little bit busy over the next several days putting up gutters is an understatement. ha! We had to work quickly, so that we could close on our home on the originally scheduled day. I didn’t want anymore delays. In our rush we forgot to seal one of our gutter joints. Unfortunately, the first time it rained we had a mini waterfall on the side of our house right through that gutter seam. Last week I told you about our DIY Herb Garden that we are making as a family! I’m excited to say that we had wonderful weather this past week, & we were able to finish staining our herb garden. Then yesterday we were able to get all of our herbs planted! Yay! Today I’m excited to share how we made our DIY Herb Garden, so that YOU can make one, too! :)

UPDATE: I stained my wood. A few readers expressed concern about this step. If you are worried about the stain leaking into your soil & herbs then simply skip this step or use a non-toxic stain. I did not stain the inside of my boxes so I wasn’t too concerned about it, but that’s just me. ;) This year I’m actually planning on doing a flower garden instead of herbs! I’ll update soon! ;)
