Good morning! As most of you know we recently built our own home. It was a process! Whew! ;) We had our final inspection a few months ago. I was so excited to have our LAST one! They came back & said everything looked great, buuuuuuuuuut we would have to add gutters before we could convert our construction loan into a conventional home loan. What??!! To say we were a little bit busy over the next several days putting up gutters is an understatement. ha! We had to work quickly, so that we could close on our home on the originally scheduled day. I didn’t want anymore delays. In our rush we forgot to seal one of our gutter joints. Unfortunately, the first time it rained we had a mini waterfall on the side of our house right through that gutter seam. Thank goodness I found an Easy Gutter Fix with Gorilla Waterproof Patch and Seal Tape. Let me show you how! (Annnnnd I have a fun Home Depot giveaway for you, too!)
The problem spot was right here in that corner. The rain water would just pour through that seam.
No worries! Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Tape can instantly seal out water, air & moisture. I knew this little seam would be no problem at all. With an extra thick adhesive layer & UV resistant backing, this waterproof tape forms a permanent bond indoors & out. It is also nice & wide (4 inches!) and comes in long 10 foot rolls. You’ll get twice as much tape compared to the leading flexible tape brand. So it can handle just about any job. You can use this tape to patch holes, cracks, rips, gaps & tears. You can even use it underwater. Amazing! You can use it anywhere around your home, on your cars & even boats & most definitely gutters!
The easy to follow directions are right on the back of the packaging.
First, we cleaned out our gutter & dried it out with a towel. Then we got the tape out & some scissors.
The tape comes with a backing, so we didn’t have to worry about it sticking everywhere before we were ready.
Then we cut a piece a little bit bigger than our seam that needed covering.
Then we removed the liner and placed the tape over our gutter seam. Be careful on this step. This tape is not repositionable. You’ll want to get it right the first time.
We rubbed in place, paying close attention to the edges. Annnnnd that’s it! :)
Now we are ready for the rain! :)
Be sure to check out Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Tape if you have leaky gutters like us! :)
