Bench Makeover with DecoArt

This post is brought to you by DecoArt.

Good morning! When I was a little girl my grandfather had a bench at his house. I loved to climb on it, sit on it each time we visited & open & close the lid (again and again!). ha! It’s one of those things that brings back memories of my grandfather’s house. When he passed away a few years ago, I got to take the bench home with me. He used it as a firewood box, so it was in need of some TLC. When I first got it home, I gave it a couple of coats of chalky finish paint in a cream color, but I wanted to go a little bit more bold. So let me show you how easy this Bench Makeover with DecoArt was. Let’s get started! :)

Choosing the Right Rug Pad

This post is brought to your by Rug Pad USA.

Hello! How are you? Awesome, I hope! If you have followed me for a little while (especially on instagram) you know that we recently added on to our house. It was quite the undertaking! We did all the work ourselves, & it took us a year almost to the day! In June we passed the final inspection. Boy! What a relief that was! We still have a few landscaping projects to finish outside but the inside is completely done. I’m working on decorating now. It’s taking a little bit longer than expected! Hopefully it won’t take a year. ha! ;) Anyways, I had picked out a yellow rug (You can see it HERE.), but the neutral loving me couldn’t handle it. ;) So recently I switched it out for a white, shaggy rug & put the yellow rug in our bedroom. It looks so much better, & I love the yellow in our bedroom. Yay! So about the same time I was doing the rug switch-a-roo I was contacted by Will, the co-founder of a website called Rug Pad USA.  Rug Pad USA specializes in manufacturing higher end, eco-friendly rug pads that are made in the USA. He asked if I would like to review one of their rug pads! Of course, I said yes, and along the way I learned all about choosing the right rug pad. So I thought I’d share what I learned with you! So keep reading. :)

How to Decorate with Clean Lines & Simple Patterns

Hello! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! It was a hot one over here. ha! ;) If you have followed me on instagram over the past year or so you have seen some of the progress (sometimes slooooooow progress!) we made as we added an addition onto the back of our home. What a project that was! Whew! We did all of the work ourselves, and we learned a ton! I'm not sure we will ever attempt that again though! ha! ;) We did pass our final inspection in June, and now that the kiddos are back in school it's time for me to decorate! Yay! At first I was struggling a little bit on deciding how to decorate. I had bought these pillows a few months back. At first I was trying to decorate around them, but it just wasn't working out. :( I guess flowers & gray & yellow aren't my thing! ha! So I decided to go back to the clean lines & simple look that I love. Annnnd I am so excited how it is turning out. I recently received this lovely entertainment credenza from Sauder Furniture. I love the clean lines of this piece. I think it looks great with the simple patterns I’ve picked out for the room. So keep reading to see some more & to find out what style I am! :)
