Hello! The Big Game is almost here! Yay! Do we have any football fans in the house? ;) I know my family has some HUGE football fans ~ especially my son, Rylan. He keeps me informed on all the latest games, players & scores. ha! Well, if you are like us a football game isn’t the same without a few munchies & party decor. So today I am excited to bring you some easy & fun football inspired party ideas, recipe & crafts. A party always starts with some munchies. We love Pringles, & the new Cheez-It Crunch'd & Cheez-It Grooves are fantastic. They go perfectly with my 8 Layer Spread recipe. Yum! I also have some football party decoration ideas & a free football cut file. So let’s get started!
The first thing I always do when planning a party is plan the menu & make my shopping list. I love using Cheez-Its on the party menu because they are made with 100% real cheese baked into every yummy cracker. Have you seen the new Cheez-It Crunch'd? They are the first-ever crunchy puff made with real cheese. Another new product that I wanted to try are the Cheez-It Grooves. They are thin, crispy and made with 100% real cheese as well. Cheez-It Grooves combine the best of a Cheez-It cracker & a chip into one yummy snack. They come in Zesty Cheddar Ranch, Original Cheddar and Sharp White Cheddar. I also added some Pringles, fruit, drinks, napkins, plates, cups & ingredients for my famous 8 Layer Spread to my shopping list. OK, maybe it’s not that famous….yet! ;) Then I headed to Walmart. When I got back it was time to party! ;)
This recipe is perfect for your next get together! It’s good!
For this recipe you will need:
1 can refried beans
8 green onions, diced
1 cup taco blend cheese, grated
2 tomatoes, diced
2 cups baby spinach leaves, chopped
6 oz. can of olives, sliced
2 ripe avocados
1/4 cup salsa
1 can black beans, rinsed & drained
In a separate bowl mix your two avocados with 1/4 cup of salsa. Set aside. In a large dish layer the refried beans, then layer the spinach, beans, avocado mixture, tomatoes, green onions, olives & then sprinkle the cheese on top. Cover & refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with Pringles & Cheez-It Grooves.
Another important part of the party is the decor, of course! So let’s get to that! ;)
1. Make a simple football banner using triangles, twine & vinyl footballs.
2. Turn the Pringles cans into football goal posts using some cardstock & washi tape.
3. Make your toothpicks a little cuter by adding some fun washi tape flags in team colors.
4. Display your food in similar colored dishes & for interest vary the height. I made the fruit tray higher by sitting it on top of an overturned bowl.
I am so excited to show you how to make these easy football snack cups! I’m also sharing a free cut file so you can make your own. :)
All you’ll need for this project are some brown paper cups & white vinyl.
All you have to do is apply your football lace vinyl to the front of your cup.
To see how to apply vinyl you can check out a full tutorial right {HERE}.
Isn’t that too cute? You can use these for snack cups & for drink cups.
If you have a vinyl cutter you can download the free cut file by clicking the picture below.
If you don’t have a vinyl cutter you could use white duck tape or washi tape instead.
Now the only thing left to do is to enjoy the big game & the FOOD! ;)
Just about everything I used at our Big Game Party was purchased at Walmart.
Be sure to look for the new Cheez-It Crunch’d & Grooves at your local store. :)
I know that was A LOT for one post. So let me know if you have any questions.
