So I can sneak inside when the kiddos go to sleep. haha! ;) Today I am sharing one our family’s favorite recipes ~ blackberry cobbler. I’ve included both a conventional recipe (in the oven) & one for your Dutch oven. So keep reading to get the yummy recipe & to see the Ultimate List of Camping Ideas. Enjoy! :)

We have been using this recipe for years. It’s so easy to remember! I have it memorized now! ha! ;)

Blackberry Cobbler

Preheat your oven to 350.  While oven is preheating melt one stick of butter in a 9x13 baking pan. While your butter is melting, mix 1 cup each of milk, flour & sugar & 2 tsp of baking powder together in a bowl. Then pour this over your melted butter. Pour in 4-5 cups of blackberries (or other fruit) on top of that. Sprinkle some sugar on top. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

If you plan to do this recipe in the great outdoors in an actual Dutch oven. Follow the exact same instructions from above. Melt the butter, add the batter & then the fruit. You will put about 20 hot coals on top of the Dutch oven lid & about 10 coals underneath until the cobbler’s crust is golden brown. Watch closely. Serve warm. This cobbler is delicious served with ice cream. Enjoy!

You can get a printer friendly version of this recipe right {HERE}.
