Hello! How are you? I have a super fun & easy tutorial to share with you today! Yay! :) In a few weeks our family will be headed out on a quick trip for Spring Break. I always like to make a “travel bag” for the kiddos to take with them. I pack it with simple & fun things to keep them entertained as we travel. I also love to use something old to make something new! Annnnd that is exactly what I did when I made this super cute Blue Jean Bag for my daughter to take on the trip. While I was at Walmart picking up some things for our trip I noticed the brand new EcoAdvanced Energizer Recycled Batteries. Yes, you heard me right ~ recycled batteries! So keep reading, & I’ll tell you more!

First, let me show you how I made this adorable blue jean bag! You’ll only need a few things to make one.

Supplies:
an old pair of blue jeans
fabric scissors
thread & pins
sewing machine
ribbon

If your kiddos are like mine then you probably have a pair or two of jeans that look just like this! Am I right? ;) Instead of trashing these let’s upcycle them into something fabulous! First, you will cut the legs off just below the hips.

Then cut out the crotch seam by cutting as close as you can along either side with fabric scissors.

Then you’ll cut off the little bit of material left on the back of the jeans.

Turn the jeans inside out, & then you’ll pin it closed along the bottom.

Then using a sewing machine stitch it closed. Be sure to double stitch on each end.

For the strap I just used a thick piece of grosgrain ribbon tied to a belt buckle on each side of my bag. Use pinking shears to cut your ribbon. This way you won’t have worry about it unraveling later.

That’s it! Your blue jean bag is done. Soooooo cute! :)

Now it’s time to fill the bag with some fun things to take with us on our trip.

Some things I always include in my kiddos’ travel bags are: paper, pens & crayons, hand held games, coloring books, CD player with ear buds, snacks, books & stickers.

I also always make sure that I pack plenty of batteries for trips! My kiddos have a ton of electronics! I love the brand new Energizer EcoAdvanced recycled batteries. I am so glad that I found them! These batteries are the first battery on the market to use recycled batteries/materials. As a mom who cares about our environment I really, really love this!

They are also “Energizer's longest lasting alkaline ever". Now that is saying a lot! I love that these batteries are available in both AA & AAA sizes. These are the two sizes that we use all the time!

The Energizer EcoAdvanced recycled batteries can also last up to 12 years in storage. So they are a great little battery to stock up on! They’d make a great addition to an emergency kit or 72 hour kit.

Remember these brand new batteries can be found at Walmart. I found mine right up in the front of the store in a huge battery display. You can’t miss them! :)
