Keep your eye out for some party planning & hosting tips throughout this post to help you with your next party! If you have some tips be sure to leave them in the comments. The first tip I have is to keep your menu simple & easy using ingredients everyone loves! One of our favorites are pepperonis! They are so easy to add to recipes, & my kiddos love the taste. That’s a win, win! I also love that they come precooked & ready to go. Also, when you are preparing your food the day of the party start with the dish that will take the longest to put together first. While that one is cooking you can start on the less time consuming dishes. So for this party I started with this #pepitup breakfast casserole first. It’s so easy to put together, but does take a little while to cook. So let’s get started. :)

#PepItUp Breakfast Casserole

ingredients for breakfast casserole

For this recipe you’ll need:

  • (2 pound) package frozen hash brown diced potatoes, thawed
  • 2 packages of Hormel Pepperoni, original flavor
  • 1/2 white onion, diced & sautéed in butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a large baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Then place the hash brown potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish.

While the breakfast casserole was cooking I set up our Omelet Your Way omelet bar with a little help from the Hormel Pepperoni Minis. These little guys are so cute & yummy!

In addition to the the Hormel Mini Pepperonis, I also had olives, cheese, mushrooms, avocado & grape tomatoes. So everyone got to pick & chose making their own unique omelet just like they wanted.

To make it easier on party day I premade egg “pancakes”. I’m not sure what to call them! ha! They look like a pancake to me. Basically your use a small frying pan, cover the bottom with a thin layer of egg, & then cook the egg on both sides. You’ll flip it just like a pancake. You’ll need two of these for each omelet. I used about a dozen eggs for our party. On the omelet I made I added Hormel Pepperoni Minis, olives, grape tomatoes, mushroom & cheese. Most of my kiddos went the simpler route, and they just had mini pepperonis & cheese. ;)

Another party tip is to label each of your ingredients. This helps when you are trying to stay on top of what topping needs to be refilled during your party. You can quickly see which one is empty. I found these chalkboard stands at a craft store, & I just used vinyl lettering to make the word labels using my Silhouette & the smiley monster font. (Another fun thing to do at your party is to have a party hashtag. Ours was #pepitup! It’s fun to include that in your decorations, too. Your guest can use it when they share your party on social media. Fun!)

Now back to making that omelet! To make the omelets we put an egg “pancake” in a quesadilla maker & topped it with our favorite toppings.

Then we put another egg on top. Then I loosely closed the lid. (It’s a little thick! So don’t force it closed!) It just needs enough heat to melt the cheese & warm up the toppings.

After about 3-4 minutes open your lid. & your omelet will be ooey gooey, hot & ready to eat. Yum!

To keep my party simple I did serve some store bought items like muffins, fruit & fruit dip & mini cinnamon rolls. All I had to do was wash the fruit & set everything else out.

Also, for the party décor I tried to use things I already had on hand to keep the cost low. I used a frame & a print. I had a blue crate that worked perfectly to add height to the table. I also used a mason jar filled with eggs & a rooster I already had to go along with the rise & shine theme.

I used some black cardstock & white vinyl lettering to make a cute rise & shine chalkboard inspired banner. I used white paperclips to attach my banner to a long piece of twine. I already had everything to make these on hand. Yay! :) I used the Another Typewriter font for my banner.

I chose red, turquoise & white for the color scheme because I already have a ton of dishes & other things in that color. Always use what you have first! I did buy a few things like the metal tray, new tablecloth & metal cake stand. It’s always fun to add some new things here & there. Especially things you can use over & over again. :)

party ideas

This party theme would be great for birthdays, breakfast brunches, bridal showers, engagement parties, baby showers, graduation parties & so many other occasion! Who doesn’t like breakfast food & pepperoni? You really can’t go wrong with this one!  :)
