I love Christmas time, and it has become even better since we’ve had kiddos! One of our favorite Christmas traditions is making cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. Usually we make peanut butter cookies with a Hershey Kiss on top, but this year we are going to try something a little different. I had bought some of the Candy Cane Hershey Kisses for some Snowman Soup gifts I was putting together, and I thought they’d be super yummy on some cookies! So here is what we came up with ~ Peppermint Santa Cookies! They are delicious! So keep reading to get the easy recipe! :)
Peppermint Santa Cookies
For this recipe you’ll need:
4 squares BAKER’S unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
Candy Cane Hershey Kisses, 1 bag
Microwave the unsweetened chocolate & butter in a microwave safe dish on high for 2 minutes or until the butter is melted. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted. Then pour into a larger bowl. Stir in the sugar, mix well. Blend in the eggs & then the vanilla. Slowly add the flour, and stir until mixed completely together. Refrigerate until the dough is firm enough to handle (about an hour).
Preheat the oven to 350°. When the dough is ready ~ roll into 1 inch balls, and then place them on a sprayed cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8 minutes. Try not to over bake them. As soon as they are out of the oven stick a Candy Cane Hershey Kiss right on top. Let the Hershey Kisses melt almost completely. Then remove the Hershey Kiss “point” on top leaving a puddle of yumminess! Let cool a bit & then enjoy! :) You can get a printer friendly recipe HERE.
I think these will be a huge hit with Santa! ha! ;)
