This post is brought to you by Happy Crafters.
Good morning! Can you believe it is almost time for school to start? We only have 3 more weeks until the big day. Eek! :) We have been making our back to school list of what we need this year. It's very long! ha! I have 5 kiddos going to school this year. (Yes, that’s all of them!) Whew! It’s going to be quiet around our house in a few weeks. ;) One of the must haves for back to school is a backpack or messenger bag. You've got to have something to carry all of those books & homework around in. ;) So let me show you how I made this cute {back to school} messenger bag with some gold foil heat transfer vinyl from Happy Crafters. It was easy! So let’s get started! :)
First, you'll cut your image out with your
Silhouette or other digital craft cutter. I love polka dots! So I went with that one. You could also personalize these with your child's initials, school mascot & more. Get creative! Weed your vinyl. Place it vinyl side down on your bag. Place a pillowcase or piece of cloth over the top. Press with a hot iron for 20-30 seconds. Keep doing this until your whole design has been pressed.
Then I flipped my bag over & ironed the back doing the same thing. Press for 20-30 seconds before moving on to the next spot. Keep doing this until your whole design has been pressed. Slowly remove the clear backing paper. If your vinyl does not want to stick repeat the steps until it has adhered to your fabric. Sometimes you have to be a little bit patient. ;) The results will be fabulous. I promise! Check this out! Adorable!
Now we are ready for back to school! Let's go! :)
