The scriptures offer powerful examples of strong women who lead others and live the teachings of Jesus. In the Old Testament, women such as Ruth and Esther lived according to what they believed was God’s will, doing their best to love, learn, and lead. Modern daughters of God can do the same.

Your attitude not only affects yourself, it affects your family. So if you want your family to be healthier and happier, then your family needs to have an optimistic mindset. Optimism is more than an attitude, though. It’s how you look at and face challenges, failures, and other life obstacles. To have a more optimistic home, you have to show your family how to think and act positively every day and in every situation. And here are six ways you can do that.

I look forward to the Easter and Christmas campaigns every year. This year mormon.org is launching a brand new campaign centered around the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. This Easter season I hope we all take time to remember His life & His sacrifice for us. The official campaign launches this Friday, March 31. Be sure to follow me on instagram and facebook. I will be updating as the campaign launches & gets underway.
In the week leading up to Easter, each day they will have a new attribute to focus on & ideas to help you get started. The goal is to help bring us closer to Christ & to be more like our Savior. I don’t want to give too much away, but for example one attribute that will be highlighted is reading the scriptures. I know when I read the scriptures I feel closer to my Savior & to my Heavenly Father. Every time I read my scriptures, something new stands out to me. I swear it was written just for me! :) When I think of the scriptures and scripture reading it also reminds me of my oldest son, Zachary. Zach is serving a mission for our church right now. He has always been a dedicated scripture reader even before his mission. Many times I would find him in his room reading & marking his scriptures. He’s always been a great example to me.

Hello! Yesterday I shared how we love to spread the joy on Christmas. Annnnd today I am so excited to let you know about the brand new #LIGHTtheWORLD campaign from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that starts December 1st. For 25 days there will be 25 ways you can serve others. You can sign up {HERE} to get notified when everything begins. Every day they will have a different theme & a different way you can serve like Christ did. For example, day 11’s theme is Jesus Ministered to Children. One service idea to go along with that theme is to put a picture of Christ in your children’s bedrooms, & to teach your children of the Savior’s love for them. My kiddos & I decided to make these Christ Blocks for their bedrooms. We even made one for my missionary son. Let me show you how! :)

Good morning! As many of you know my oldest son left on his mission this past June. In 8 days he will hit the 5 month mark! Eek! I can’t believe I have survived this long! haha! I know he is doing good, and I am so proud of him. I want him to savor every minute of his mission. (You can follow along on his missionary journey right HERE.) Of course, I want to keep track of how many more days until he’s back, too! So I made these super cute Missionary Countdown Blocks to help us keep track. Happy Friday! Are you ready for the weekend? I am! We just got home from a quick trip to Nauvoo, Illinois on Monday. Then the rest of the week has been spent catching up on laundry, bills & a little bit of blogging. ha! I’m ready to have a little fun. I am excited to be partnering with them to help spread the word!
This is my Grandmother, Mary Denton Ault.
I lost my Grandmother way too early in August of 2004 to cancer. I can’t believe it’s been almost 12 years ago. I miss her everyday. This is a picture of my grandparents house! I think I spent more nights here than my own house! ha! She loved holidays & especially Christmas. Her house would be decorated from top to bottom each year complete with a Christmas village. We loved spending time with her, and she loved her grandchildren. My grandparents had 5 boys so when I was born she was over the moon. Finally, a little girl to dress up & buy dolls for. I was a little bit spoiled! ha! :)
Good morning! I know I talk about my family a lot! ha! I just love them so much! I also love my extended family, & I love learning about my ancestors & my own family history! In just over 2 weeks we will all have the chance to participate in the Worldwide Indexing Event 2016. Good morning! My mind has been a million miles from the blog lately! My oldest son just left on his two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this past week. Saying see you later (not goodbye!) to him at the MTC was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done! I am so proud of him! We received two long emails & pictures from him on Friday. He is having the time of his life! You can follow along on his missionary journey right {HERE}. I don’t know about you but when I’m having an emotional day (or week!) eating something a little sweet can help me feel just a little bit better! ha! Hello! Today marks the100th anniversary of the Family Home Evening program. If you haven’t heard of Family Home Evening let me tell you a little bit about it. ;) Family Home Evening is one night a week that our family sets aside to spend time together (usually Monday night at our house). We have a lesson, spiritual thought, sing songs, play a game or other activity & then we have a yummy treat. You can find out lots more {HERE}. Hello! Today’s post is going to be a little different than the usual crafty project or recipe that you usually see around here. ha! ;) Today I’m going to get a little more personal. I know many of you know that I’m a Mormon (also known as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). I’ve mentioned it a few times & shared some LDS projects here & there but I’ve never really talked about it a lot here on the blog.
