Hello! How was your weekend? Ours was pretty great! We were snowed in most of last week! So we have tons of fun things planned & errands to run for this week. Have you heard? Big Hero 6 will be released on DVD/Blu-Ray TOMORROW (Feb. 24h) at Walmart! Eek! You also finds tons of toys and Big Hero 6 merchandise at Walmart.com right now & in Walmart stores starting tomorrow. Also, with purchase of the movie you will get digital copy (while supplies last) included! I know my kiddos can’t wait to see the movie. On our to do list this week is to head to Walmart. I feel a movie night *might* be in our future. ;) So last week (while we were snowed in!) we had a little fun making some Big Hero 6 Finger Puppets! My kiddos have played & played with these! So keep reading to see how we made them. ;)
You’ll need a few supplies to get started:
cardstock or construction paper
popsicle sticks
googly eyes
glue
markers
vinyl
hot glue & glue gun (optional)
My little son loved helping me pick out the right accessories for each character in Big Hero 6! We had to have just the right glasses for Honey Lemon & of course, GoGo had to have pink bubblegum! ha! ;) The kiddos glued everything in place, and then I used a hot glue gun to glue on the popsicle sticks. We made our Baymax puppet a little differently. Let me show you how. :)
First I searched & saved a coloring picture of Baymax to my computer, and then I imported it into my Silhouette software. I sized it to how big I wanted him to be.
Then I opened up my trace window & clicked “select trace area”. I selected the area I wanted to trace ~ Baymax.
While he was highlighted I clicked the “trace” button. That left the image looking like this. Now it’s time to cut some vinyl! I did a very detailed how to cut & apply vinyl tutorial right {HERE}. So pop over there to see how to do that. It’s easy! ;)
After I cut the vinyl out I went back to step one (opening the Baymax image) & then inside of selecting “trace” I selected “trace outer edge”. It left me with an image that looked like this:
I cut that image out using some light gray cardstock. When that was done I applied the vinyl right over the cardstock. Easy!
It made the perfect Baymax puppet! I kind of impressed myself! ha! ;)
My kiddos had so much fun playing with their puppets & acting out the scenes from Big Hero 6 from funny Fred to the too smart Hiro to sweet Baymax. (Yes, they are still in their jammies….it was a snow day after all!) ;)
My kiddos also had fun checking out Walmart.com for any & all Big Hero 6 merchandise. They really did want it all! ha! ;)
Don’t forget to look for the Big Hero 6 display at your local Walmart. You will get a digital copy of Big Hero 6 on VUDU (while supplies last) with your purchase of the Blu-Ray/DVD + Gift with Purchase Set at Walmart staring tomorrow! All you’ll have to do is scan your receipt using the Savings Catcher in the Walmart app. Then look for a message on your phone or email. Then you’ll be able to watch Big Hero 6 on any device! That’s so awesome! We love VUDU! :)
