Good morning! Christmas is this week! Eek! :) One our most favorite Christmas traditions is baking. Baking together as a family is so fun (& a little messy!). ;) We usually bake up goodies on Christmas Eve & take them around to all our friends that evening. My kiddos requested that we make something different this year. I guess they were getting tired of the same old treats. ha! ;) When I was younger my mom loved banana nut bread. We would have it quite often. I’ve never made it though! So I was so excited to find this Easy Banana Bread recipe. This recipe was so easy to put together, & you are not going to believe what the secret ingredient is ~ KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP Dressing. It makes this bread super moist & yummy! I know you are going to want to make some, too. So keep reading to get the yummy recipe. :)
For this recipe you will need:
1 egg
1/2 cup KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP Dressing
1-1/3 cups mashed fully ripe bananas (about 3)
1-1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped PLANTERS Walnuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
In a large bowl mash your 3 ripe bananas with a fork. Blend the mashed bananas with the egg & 1/2 cup KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP Dressing. Set aside. In a smaller bowl mix the dry ingredients (sugar, salt, baking soda & flour). Then stir in the walnuts.
Pour your dry ingredients into the banana mixture. Stir until moistened.
Lightly spray a 9x5 loaf pan with cooking spray. Pour in your batter.
Cook in a 350ºF oven for 60 minutes. Bread is done when toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Remove from the pan. Slice & enjoy! This bread is best served warm with a nice big glass of milk. :)
Not only is is this bread perfect for the holidays but is also makes a great holiday gift. For an easy gift idea use mini loaf foil pans with plastic lids. This recipe will make 3 mini loaves. After the bread has cooled, put on the lid & attach a Christmas card with washi tape. Then deliver these to your friends & family. They will LOVE it. I promise! :)
