It’s the holidays! Yay! I am always looking for fun crafts to do with my kiddos this time of year. One that we love to do every single year is to make gingerbread houses! I’m not going to lie sometimes decorating gingerbread houses can be a little tricky especially for the smaller kiddos. It’s hard to keep those walls from falling down! ha! ;) A few years ago we made gingerbread houses with some good friends of ours, and we learned from them the easy way to make gingerbread houses! Yay! So today I am excited to show you how to make gingerbread houses the easy way! This is such a fun craft to do as a family, & your kiddos will love it! So keep reading to see how we did it! ;)
For this project you’ll need a few supplies, of course! :) So I headed to Walmart to pick up a few things. Annnnd look what I found ~ Gingerbread M&Ms! Yay! These are available exclusively at Walmart right now. So be on the look out! I’ll also have a coupon for you in just a little bit! Yay! :)
You’ll also need:
graham crackers
powdered sugar
mini marshmallows
other candies
tubed icing
vanilla icing
empty washed carton
First you will cut the top flap off of your carton, and then use tape to keep the top closed.
Next you’ll using icing to attach your roof & walls.
Then add lots of candy for the roof, walls, widows & doors. It’s OK if you sneak a few pieces here & there! haha! Those Gingerbread M&Ms are good! ;)
Finally the last thing you’ll do is sprinkle your gingerbread house with powdered sugar to make it look like it snowed! Perfect!
My kiddos had so much fun making their gingerbread houses! They all turned out so cute & different.
I think a few of them *might* have eaten more candy than ended up on their houses. Just sayin’. ha! :) Do you have any fun holiday traditions at your house? Have you ever made gingerbread houses before? I’d love to hear! :)
Remember you can find the Gingerbread M&Ms at Walmart!
