This post is brought to you by Cutting Edge Stencils.
I have used Cutting Edge Stencils in several areas of our home. You can check out my organization wall and our master bedroom curtains to see these stencils in action! :) Recently Cutting Edge Stencils has added wall quote stencils to their collection. I was excited to have the chance to review one of these new stencils! I also have a giveaway from Cutting Edge Stencils for one of you! Yay! So keep reading to find out more. :)
Like I said, Cutting Edge Stencils has just added Wall Quote Stencils to their collection. You can find them all here. It was hard to pick just one! ha! :) Buuuut I finally decided on the Home is Where the Heart Is stencil. I love that saying! :)
You can check out my other Cutting Edge Stencil projects for a more detailed tutorial. The only thing that I did differently this time was that I used some spray adhesive on the back of my stencil. You just spray a light layer on the back of your stencil, & then let it dry for about 5 minutes. Then you’ll stencil just like normal. I was a little concerned with seepage since this stencil was words instead of a pattern. (With the patterns little mistakes aren’t as noticeable as they would be with words.)
The other thing that I did differently (than I had ever done before) was that I used the stencil to make a sign instead using it directly on the wall. I found thin paint-ready plywood at Lowes. The piece I bought was 2 feet by 4 feet. So I just cut it to a size that fit my stencil. I painted my board white & let it dry before stenciling.
After I was finished stenciling I did have to touch of some of the edges. I just used a black paint pen & ruler to do this. I also closed all the “stencil gaps” in my letters to make all my letters nice & solid.
Now are you ready for a giveaway???
