Spring Break was last week….don’t let that snow fool ya! ;) It’s spring no matter what the weather man says & what falls out of the sky, right? ha! Anyways, our family decided to stick close to home this year & have a Spring Break Staycation at the Hyatt. We had a blast….cold weather & all!
The week before Spring Break I looked into some hotels nearby & decided to book a room at the Hyatt Place Hotel not too far from our house, but just far enough to feel like a vacation. ;) There are 3 things I always look for in a hotel for our family~a free hot breakfast, a mini fridge in the room & a swimming pool. This Hyatt had all of these amenities plus much, much more! {You can check out my pre-staycation preparations, how easy it was to make our reservations & more photos from our stay over on google+.}
My kiddos were so excited about our staycation. We spent the morning before we left packing up & getting everything together for our stay. We checked in just a little bit after the 3 pm check-in time, & the kids couldn’t wait to check out our room.
Let’s go check it out! ;)
This is what we saw when we first walked into the room. As my kiddos would say, “Fancy!” ;)
When you first walked in there was a sleeper sofa on the left….yes, a sleeper sofa! Yay! Then on the other side of a divider were 2 queen size beds. I loved that there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep!
I loved how they had the room divided into different areas. It made it feel more like home than a regular hotel room.
Across from the sleeper sofa was a sink with the mini-refrigerator underneath & across from that was a desk.
The TV was in the middle of the room so you could see it from the sofa or the beds. Across from the beds was another sink. On one side of the sink was the closet & on the other side was the bathroom.
Annnnd if you were wondering where all my kiddos were while I was taking these pictures….
Yep! They were hiding all over the room! ha! ;)
I just wanted to show you a few more pictures of the hotel before I tell you about all the fun we had & what we did during our staycation.
Each morning we had breakfast right at the hotel.
They had everything from fruit, oatmeal, donuts, cinnamon rolls, bagels, French toast, waffles, eggs, yogurt & cereal.
Here’s some of the yummy food we had for breakfast. :)
OK…other than staying in a fabulous room & eating yummy breakfast every morning here are some of the other things we did during our staycation. ;)
On the first night we headed to our local library & loaded up with some good books. We came back to the hotel and read & read & read. It was awesome!
Can you believe it snowed during our Spring Break? Crazy! So one day we did take some time to play in the snow! ha!
We are so lucky to have one of the best museums in the country right in our backyard. So we were able to go see the Norman Rockwell exhibit as a family one day! It was amazing! Loved it. :)
In additions to the yummy food we had for breakfast, we also enjoyed ordering in pizza one night for dinner, & we even had root beer floats in our hotel room one night! Yum!
Since the hotel pool wasn’t opened for the season yet…still too cold for that! brrrr! We headed down the road to an indoor swimming pool. The kids had a blast!
Our staycation was a huge success! We couldn’t of asked for a nicer place to stay. The hotel staff was so friendly & helpful. The kiddos were amazing, & they had such a great time! I absolutely loved hanging out with my family for a few days, & I loved taking a little break from the rest of the world. We had a fabulous time!
