It’s no secret….I love my Silhouette! Buuut I have a confession to make for the first year & half I owned mine the only thing I ever cut was vinyl! Yep, I was too scared to cut anything else! ha! The last couple of months I’ve been trying to venture out & see what my Silhouette can really do! Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to show you some fun paper crafts I made using my Silhouette! I’ve been having so much fun…it’s kind of addicting! Today I’m excited to show you this super easy & cute paper pumpkin.
One of the great things about owning a Silhouette is their online store. You can find just about anything & everything over there! Most shapes are just $0.99…so cheap! (Annd did you notice they have commercial use available now, too!!?? Awesome!} Every week they have a free shape, too. I always try to pop over & grab that each week. Anyways, I saw this cute 3-D pumpkin shape a few weeks ago & bought it! {You can visit the designer’s blog HERE to see more from her.}
This is how it will look on your Silhouette screen. You’ll need orange & brown scrapbook paper. I chose to use polka dotted paper because polka dots always make it cuter. ha! So you just send that to your Silhouette & soon you’ll have pieces that look like these below:
You’ll roll up your center tube like so & then glue it together!
Then fold back the little tabs on each end.
Then you’ll start gluing on the pieces of your pumpkin.
Until it starts looking like this…
annnd then finally this!
Add your stem & you’re done! So cute & easy!
These would make a great kid craft
or center piece for Halloween or Thanksgiving.
