Good morning! I am super excited today to join with some of my favorite Cricut bloggers to bring you a fun Summer of Flowers event. Throughout this week, we will all be sharing our favorite flower inspired projects using our Cricut machines. :) Today I am excited to share this Peony Paper Flower tutorial with you. :) Annnnnd did I mention that I have a huge Cricut giveaway for you, too? Yep! I do! So, let’s get started.

I told you last week that my son is getting married. Eek! I have a huge canvas print of the Provo City Center temple (where they’ll be married) for their open house. I’m making a flower swag to hang underneath & these red peonies are part of that. :) I’ll show you the finished product after the open house.

For this project you will need:
Cricut Maker
Cricut StandardGrip cutting mat
white cardstock
red cardstock
green cardstock
hot glue gun & glue
this Design Space file

I love my Cricut Maker. You can see why here. :) You could also use the Cricut Explore Air 2 for this project.

First, I cut out everything with my Cricut Maker. Then I started the assembly.

I was so confused at first. ha! You don’t have instructions in Design Space that I could find anyways, but I did find this one from Cori at Let’s Make Stuff. So pop over there to see how she assembled hers! I do have a few tips! First, this is how you glue these petals. It took me a while to figure that out. ha! I also used hot glue for assembly. It seems to hold the best. This flower isn’t coming apart!

Also, to give the flower more of a 3D look I curled the petals with a pencil.

This is how you assemble this petal. There are two of them.

Then you simply stack them together, as you glue them together.

Your flower will look like this when you are finished layering.

Then attach the green petals, and you are done! :) I made two of these & plan to add some more flowers later.

Have you every tried paper flowers before? :) Cricut makes it easy!

Now it’s time for that giveaway I was talking about. Yay! If you saw my post last week, I introduced you to the all new Cricut Infusible Ink.
