I taught my children how important it is to take care of their smiles with
LISTERINE® Smart Rinse, as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #LISTERINE
It’s that time of year….the holidays! All the yummy goodies start to pile up with Halloween & then continue on until the New Year. While it’s fun to have your family (including the kiddos!) indulge in the holiday celebrations & treats, we still need to make sure we are taking care of our pretty smiles, too! If your kiddos are like mine sometimes they need a little motivation to get to the bathroom to floss, brush & swish those teeth. Today I am excited to share some tips that I use to get my kiddos excited about taking care of their smiles.
1. Have your kiddos floss, brush & rinse their teeth at least 2 times a day. When kiddos first start brushing their teeth independently (around age 6 or so) it can be a little difficult to brush all of those hard to reach places. That is where rinsing comes in! Rinsing each day with LISTERINE® Smart Rinse® helps clean places that the toothbrush cannot reach or your kiddos miss. Rinsing with LISTERINE® Smart Rinse can help get all those cavity bugs out! Listerine has some great rinses made especially for children. Listerine Smart Rinse® Frozen® and Listerine Smart Rinse® Avengers® are both favorites of my 6 year old & 8 year old.
It is so important to have kids start taking care of their teeth NOW! It nice to get in the habit of always swishing right before bed. Having clean teeth right before bed is a must! LISTERINE® Smart Rinse® strengthens teeth 99% better than brushing alone & provides 12 Hour Cavity Protection. Annnnd did you know? Teeth retain 2.4x more fluoride with LISTERINE® Smart Rinse vs. Act Kids. You can rest easy knowing your kiddos teeth are protected & clean! Always try to stress the importance of taking care of their teeth with your kiddos.
2. Leave gentle reminders. No one wants to be nagged all the time ~ especially your kiddos! ha! Instead of reminding them over & over each morning & night to brush, floss & rinse leave a cute reminder sign in the bathroom. I made some cute reminder printables below (in lots of cute colors!). Click & then right click & save to your computer. You can then size as needed. I printed one out, & then I used adhesive spray to attach it to a stained piece of wood. You could also print one out & just tape it to the bathroom mirror.
3. Keep it fun & be an example! Let your kiddos pick out a fun new toothbrush. Encourage them to sing a silly song in their head while they swish. Make silly faces as you swish with them. Make a silly video! Use a fun sticker chart, & give them a sticker each time they brush, floss & swish. Be an example by brushing, flossing & swishing yourself! Have fun & take care of those smiles! :)
I’d love to hear. Leave a comment below so we get some more ideas! :)
