Good morning! One thing I love about blogging is the good we can all do when we work together. Recently Kimbo from A Girl in a Glue Gun let me know about two amazing organizations (here & here) that collect handmade blankets for kiddos in need. You can read all about it over in her post. I know not all of us are experts at sewing! (Ummmm….me!) Buuuut today I’d love to share how to personalize a baby blanket to give it that handmade look. I’m also sharing a link to how I make the easiest & softest baby blanket ever. I’m also sharing links to blanket tutorials from some of your favorite bloggers. So let’s get started!
To make this blanket you’ll need:
a baby blanket (I bought this one on Pick Your Plum.)
a Silhouette (affiliate link)
blue iron on transfer vinyl
iron & ironing board
First, I cut the name “Cooper” out using my Silhouette. Be sure to mirror your image before cutting. I *think* I used Another Typewrite font for his name. By the way, Cooper is my nephew that is due Christmas Eve! Eek! ;)
Next, I put my iron on high. I put a cloth over the heat transfer vinyl & pressed in one spot 30 seconds at a time until the vinyl adhered to the fabric.
Carefully remove the transfer tape.
All done! :)
Be sure to check out the two following organizations. A blanket can make a huge difference in the life of a child. Please consider donating to a child in need. :)
