Good morning! Happy Monday to YOU! :) I hope your week is off to a great start. A few weeks ago I told you about our new plan for my girl’s room. We are going with a white & black décor. My 13 year old said flowers, purple & pink were out! ha! ;) I’m excited about their a little more grown up looking room. Today I’m also excited to share a little bit more of their fun décor ~ these DIY tribal arrow pillows that I made myself! Yes, my daughters were impressed! ;) Buuuut I’m about to show you how easy these were to make with an awesome pillow kit from Paint-A-Pillow. Everything you need will come in your Paint-A-Pillow Kit! You can also order additional embellishments (like tassels, flowers, rhinestones & more) right on their site as well.
You’ll open up your box. Then you will see that your pillow cover is set up all ready for you to paint with a card board frame & the stencil right on top ready to go.
The secret to getting a nice, smooth stencil is to have the paint spread evenly on your roller. You don’t want any glops! ;)
Then using just a little bit of pressure roll your brush over your stencil. You can also use a stencil brush to get any hard to reach areas especially around the edges of your pillow.
After you’ve covered the entire stencil with paint, carefully remove the stencil leaving the arrows behind. Easy! :)
After the paint is completely dried ~ put a regular pillow case or piece of material on top of your stenciled design & iron. The heat will set the paint making your pillow case washable. Awesome! Then I zipped my pillow form inside & my pillows were done. I love easy projects that turn out so well. :)
I also love this simple design of this pillow! These pillows are going to look great in their bedroom. I’ll have to update pictures of their “new” room when it’s done. :)
