Hello! One of my most favorite things to do (and I usually save it for last!) are the window treatments for our home. I finally put the curtains & blinds up in our sunroom two weeks ago! ha! :) It’s a big decision! Window treatments can make or break a room design! That is why I love Décorview! I wish I had found them a long time ago! I could of really used their help deciding on what to do with all the windows in our home.  Décorview designs, measures and installs custom Hunter Douglas window treatments. They are beautiful! The first question to ask yourself is ~ What direction does the light hit your house? In our house the back of our house faces the east. So we have strong morning light coming in through the back windows of our house. Those rooms include our brand new sunroom, our master bedroom & the living room. It is amazing light for blog pictures by the way! ;) If I’m not taking pictures it can get a little bit too bright & HOT! So having blinds I can close & open easily are a must for those windows.

If you get too much light & want to block some of the strong rays of the sun you can go with a thicker & darker color shade like the one below. This will keep some of the heat out on summer days. You can always easily raise it up on cooler winter days when you need some more sun & warmth.

If you don’t get enough light go with a thinner, lighter colored blind. The lighter color will make the room feel lighter & brighter.

Some other questions to ask yourself are ~ What do you use the room for? & How much light do you need? Our sunroom also doubles as my “photo studio”. That sounds fancy! ha! ;) Anyways, when we were planning the room I wanted windows on all sides. They really let in an amazing source of natural light. I have simple window treatments on all of the windows that can be raised & lowered depending on how much light I need on a particular day. Blinds like the ones below would have been perfect for our sunroom. :)

Another thing to consider when selecting window treatments is privacy & at the same time, still letting the natural light in. These blinds below do a perfect job of that. They let in lots of extra natural light but at the same time they give the right amount of privacy that you would need in a bedroom.

What style of window treatments do you LOVE? What goes with your sense of style? How do you use natural light in your home? I am loving these shutters! I want them on every room in my house! :) Let me know what you think in the comments below! I’d love to hear! :)
