One Monday I showed you how to use the Silhouette Clean Cut Fabric Interfacing, and today I’d love to show how I used the Silhouette Sewable Fabric Interfacing to make this personalized baby blanket. (I originally shared this over at Simply Kierste a few months ago!)
One of my sister's just had a little baby boy ~ Owen! (You can check out the diaper cake I made him.) He is so adorable! They live in Texas (out in the country), & his daddy loves tractors! So I decided to make Owen his own tractor blanket with his name on it. This blanket is so, so easy to make! I don't sew much....so if I can make this YOU can, too!

Tonight (or it will be last night when you read this) as we were spending our weekly family night together, the storm that had devastated Oklahoma rolled through our area. It was an intense couple of minutes with high winds, lightning & rain, and the weather radio & sirens going off. We lost power for about an hour, and we almost cranked up the generator but the power came back on (which is why I am able to write this post right now). I know what we experienced was nothing compared to what the people in Oklahoma have experienced this week. My mom called during the storm to check on us and told me about the children lost in Oklahoma. My heart is just breaking for their families, and I pray they can find some kind of comfort & peace as they rebuild their lives. Oklahoma ~ you’re in my prayers! #prayforOklahoma

I can’t believe the school year is wrapping up! My kiddos are counting down the days until summer break! Yay! Last week I told you about our DIY Herb Garden that we are making as a family! I’m excited to say that we had wonderful weather this past week, & we were able to finish staining our herb garden. Then yesterday we were able to get all of our herbs planted! Yay! Today I’m excited to share how we made our DIY Herb Garden, so that YOU can make one, too! :)
UPDATE: I stained my wood. A few readers expressed concern about this step. If you are worried about the stain leaking into your soil & herbs then simply skip this step or use a non-toxic stain. I did not stain the inside of my boxes so I wasn’t too concerned about it, but that’s just me. ;) This year I’m actually planning on doing a flower garden instead of herbs! I’ll update soon! ;)
