Hello! I’ve got to make this quick! ha! We are just about to head out the door for our stake fill the temple day. You can find out more about temples & what I believe {HERE}. Annnnd my sister just texted me last night that she is coming to visit me! Eek! I am so excited! So we have a super fun weekend planned! I hope you do, too! Buuuuut before we go I wanted to share this easy Jumbo Growth Chart tutorial with you. Enjoy! :)
This project is super easy! First, I sanded my board (a 1x8 cut down to 6 feet long).
Then I gave it a nice coat of black chalky finish paint from DecoArt.
Let it dry.
Then I applied my vinyl lettering. I used a yardstick & a pencil to make sure my lines were in the right spot! I got my growth chart vinyl from Robyn at Create It. Go. She used to run an Etsy shop. Etsy is a great place to look for vinyl lettering by the way. If you own a Silhouette or Cricut you could cut your own vinyl. Where the Smiles Have Been has a cute growth chart cut file over on her blog. You can snag that right {HERE}.
Be patient with this part. It takes a little while to get all your lines just right. ;)
I’ve shared this stenciling technique before, & I still swear by it! It works amazing every.single.time. After all your vinyl is in place….break out some Decoupage or Mod Podge in matte & a foam brush.
Put a generous layer right over your vinyl, & then let it dry.
Next, I gave my board 2 good coats of chalky finish paint. Then I let it dry.
Then remove your vinyl lettering. See those perfectly stenciled lines. Aaaahh! ;)
It was a little two perfect. ;) So I slightly distressed the whole board with sandpaper.
I wiped off the excess dust, and I was done. I kind of love it!
You can see how we made our shelf & coat rack right {HERE}.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
If you try this project, let me know how it goes. :)
Thank you so much stopping by my blog!
If this is your first time visiting I’d love to keep in touch.
