Hello! I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Recently I have joined with a fantastic group of ladies for The Silhouette Challenge. Each month we will bring you new themed Silhouette projects to inspire YOU & get you using your Silhouette even more. I’d love to have you join us! ;) This month’s theme is fabric. So today I’d love to show you how I made this ladybug tote bag with Silhouette Rhinestones! (This is my first attempt at using rhinestones!) So keep reading to see how I did it. :)
Oh & by the way the winner of the Silhouette CAMEO is ~ Jennifer A. You have been emailed! Congrats! :)
Since this is a challenge! I decided to use a medium that I have not tried before ~ rhinestones! There is a bit of a learning curve with this one but I’m confident after I have a few more projects under my belt I’ll be “rhinestoning” everything! haha! ;)
For this project you’ll need:
a Silhouette Rhinestone starter kit
a pick-me up-tool (optional)
a bag
iron
First I opened up this image of a ladybug in my Silhouette software. TIP: Do not resize your image once you have it open. They are sized perfectly for the Silhouette rhinestones.
Then I cut it using the rhinestone material that came in my kit. It has a fuzzy velvety feel to it.
Then I poured my rhinestones onto top of my pattern, & used the rhinestone brush that came with my kit to get them in place. Just move your brush in a circular motion gently. Most of your rhinestones will fall into place. Those they do not fall into place you can use the pick-me-up tool or tweezers to put them in the right spots. Just be patient. ;)
Then you’ll use the rhinestone transfer paper to lift your design off your pattern. Be careful that you get all the rhinestones!
Then you’ll use your iron on wool setting to apply the ladybug to your tote. :)
Check out this video! They explain it a lot better than me! ha! ;)
{I love the Silhouette YouTube channel! It is amazing!}
