Ginger Snap Crafts: Coffee Filter Butterflies ~ Kid Craft {tutorial}

Coffee Filter Butterflies ~ Kid Craft {tutorial}

Today I’ve got a super easy & fun craft to do with the kiddos. Our family has been making these coffee filter butterflies ever since my oldest was in kindergarten (a long time ago). They are so easy to put together, & you probably have everything you need to make them on hand. They are the perfect kid craft for spring, too!

For this project you’ll need the following supplies:

butterfly suppliespsafrenchierosetta

  • coffee filters
  • pipe cleaners
  • cloths pins
  • googly eyes
  • PSA Essentials stamp body
  • ink
  • PSA Essentials Rosetta Peel & Stick stamp set

*If you don’t own stamps you could also use watercolors, colors or markers.

I love these peel & stick stamps!  You just stick it to your stamper, & you’re all set to go!

To make our wings we just used our stamp body, stamps & different colored inks to decorate the coffee filters. You can stamp as much or as little as you like.  Get creative! :)

Once you’re done you’ll fold your coffee filter in half. Now it’s time to assemble your butterfly.

You’ll pinch together the middle with your fingers. Then you’ll slide the coffee filter into the end of your cloths pin.

Then wrap the pipe cleaner around the other end of the cloths pin. You can twist the ends around a pencil to make them curly. Then glue on two googly eyes, & you’re done.

Aren’t they the cutest thing ever? ;)
