Ginger Snap Crafts: What Materials Can I cut With My Cricut?

What Materials Can I cut With My Cricut?

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine.

So you have a Cricut, now what? :) I have to admit when I first got my Cricut machine the majority of the time I used it for cutting vinyl. Boring, right?! ha! ;) You can literally cut hundreds of materials with your Cricut Explore Air 2, Cricut Maker or Cricut Joy. So today we are going to answer the question: What materials can I cut with my Cricut? There’s a ton! Annnnd once you start experimenting with different materials, there is no looking back. Cricut Explore, Cricut Maker & Cricut Joy machines all cut so many materials that the only limit really is your imagination. From something as delicate as tissue paper to thick leather, these amazing machines can do just about everything your crafty heart desires. :)

FYI: You can visit Cricut.com to see a chart with a comprehensive list of materials with settings in Design Space that also includes the recommended blade type, cutting pressure, and multi-cut settings. Cricut is always testing new materials and will continue to add to that list. You see that here. Bookmark it for later. :)

Note: While the Cricut machines can cut a a HUGE variety of materials, Cricut does not guarantee that they will be able to cut all materials. TIP: If your material is not listed here or there, try a test cut with a similar material setting, provided the thickness of your material is less than 2.0 mm for Cricut Explore, and less than 2.4 mm for Cricut Maker. The maximum thickness can also vary with the rigidity of the cutting material. Don’t be afraid to experiment. :)

Important: Cricut Explore & Maker machines are not food safe, and shouldn’t be used to cut fondant or something similar.

Alright, now to my list of 50+ materials you CAN cut with your Cricut machine. Let’s get started! :)
