Good morning! I have 5 kiddos, so I am always looking for fun things for them to do! Today I’d love to share a fun summer activity that do every single year ~ homemade play dough! This homemade play dough recipe is amazing! This year my daughter’s slime obsession kind of over shadowed our play dough fun. I’ll be sharing her perfected slime recipe soon! So stay tuned for that. Buuuuut for today we are going old school with this tried & true homemade play dough recipe. Let’s get started! :)
Several years ago my 2nd oldest son brought this recipe home from school. We made a bunch, and we were hooked. This has been our go to play dough recipe ever since then. It’s soft, easy to work with & you can make so many fun colors. You can also store it covered in the refrigerator & use it again & again over several days.
You will need:
First, mix the oil, water and food coloring together. Next, add the flour and salt. Then mix until pliable. You can just use your hands to do that part. Cover in the refrigerator until ready to play.
*Tip: This recipe makes a bunch. You will have four good sized balls of play dough. You might want to cut the recipe in half if you don’t need quite that much.
We got out the googly eyes this year, and made some adorable starfish. I love letting my kids use their imaginations. :)
