Good morning! It’s summer! Yay! I hope your summer vacation is off to a great start! One of most favorite things about summer is having extra time to do fun things with my kiddos! We love busting out the craft supplies & making big messes! ha! Today I am excited to be partnering with Huggies® to bring you this fun 4th of July T-Shirt tutorial. So let’s get started!
For this project you will need:
white t-shirt
red & blue fabric paint
star vinyl stencil
a piece a cardboard
USA heat transfer vinyl (optional)
dish brushes
Huggies® Wipes
drop cloth
plastic bowls
First, cover your work area with a plastic drop cloth. This project could get a little messy! ha! :) I also gave my kiddos an old t-shirt to wear over their clothes.
Then you will stick the star stencil wherever you’d like! My daughter chose right in the middle of her shirt.
Next pour the paint into disposable bowls. It’s time to paint! TIP: Slide a piece of cardboard inside your shirt. This will prevent the paint from bleeding through to the other side. Stick your dish brush into the paint. Don’t get too much paint. Wipe away any excess if you need to!

Gently dab it around your star stencil. Doesn’t it look like fireworks? :)
Keep going until all the white space around the star is covered in paint.
Next, carefully remove the star stencil while the paint is wet. Don’t wait until it dries!
While the paint dries, it’s a good time for your kiddos to clean their hands! They *might* be a little bit messy after this project. Huggies® Wipes are perfect for the job! I always keep some on hand for projects like this! Huggies® Wipes have triple layers that are super gentle on skin & thick enough to clean up all the messes we make!
After the paint had dried, I ironed on a cute & sparkly USA to the front of her shirt. (That’s a grown up’s job!)
