Good morning! It’s time for another addition of Craft Lightning! You know those quick & easy crafts that take under 15 minutes to create. This month’s theme is all about Party Crafts. Annnnnd since Halloween is coming up next month, I thought I share this super easy & cute Boo Cake Topper tutorial with you. Let’s get started. :)
For this project you will need:
black cardstock
white chipboard
glitter vinyl
strong grip transfer tape
spray adhesive
coffee sticks or paper straws
Cricut cutting mat (green)
glue gun & glue
Cricut Explore Air 2 or Cricut Maker
this design from Design Space
First, you will cut out all the pieces using your Cricut machine. You’ll cut the ghost with the Boo & face cut outs using white glitter vinyl and then another one using the chipboard. Then you’ll need one off set piece in black cardstock. I decided to add the chipboard to make my cake topper super sturdy.
First, I attached the glitter vinyl to the white piece of chipboard. I found the easiest way to do this was to remove the transfer tape backing & then carefully line up the vinyl & chipboard. That’s kind of backwards way to do it, but it worked. :) Smooth it into place.
Next, I sprayed the back with a thin layer of spray adhesive.
Then I carefully lined up the black offset piece and smoothed it into place. Flip it over & carefully remove the transfer tape. Then I hot glued two coffee stirrers (or paper straws) to the back. Trim them down if you need to. Annnnnd that’s it! :)
Stick it into your party cake & you are good to go! Boo! :)
