Hello there! I am so excited to be joining up with Craft Lightning again this month! Annnnnnd it is one of my favorite themes ever ~ patriotic! I love the red, white & blue and the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. Food, family & fireworks…..you can’t go wrong with that! ;) Today I’d love to show you how I made this 15 Minute 4th of July Sign. I also have links to some of my favorite 4th of July crafts at the end!
For this project you will need:
Cricut or other digital craft cutter
vinyl stencil
red & white paint
Mod Podge, matte
foam paint brushes
hand sander (optional)
wood board
First, you will paint your board white. Let dry. Apply the vinyl lettering.
Then put a layer of matte Mod Podge on top. Let that dry as well.
Paint your board red (or blue). After the paint has dried, remove your vinyl stencil.
Aren’t those lines so crisp!? The Mod Podge prevents any paint from bleeding underneath your stencil.
This method is the only way I ever stencil! ha! I just love those crisp lines so much.
Next, I distressed my board with a hand sander. All done! :)
I’ll be sharing my 4th of July t-shirt tutorial very soon! Aren’t they cute?
As most of you know I’ve been working on a Cricut Question series.
You can see question 1 here & question 2 here. Now on to question 3.
Can I upload my own images with Cricut?
The answer is absolutely YES!
This “Let Freedom Ring” cut file is actually from Silhouette.
A more detailed tutorial is coming soon! :)
