Good morning! Father’s Day is this weekend! Eek! Time is flying! Seems like yesterday that it was Mother’s Day! I wanted to pop on really quick & share what we are doing this year for all the dads in our church congregation. In our religion temples are super important. You can find out more about temples here. Temples are where families can be sealed together forever. So, we thought it would be cute to make these Temple Tie Tacks for all the dads. You could also easily personalized these with a heart, picture or just some cute scrapbook paper instead. Let me show you how easy these are to make!

By the way, making these tie tacks is super similar to these DIY photo gifts I made a few years ago. :)

For this project you will need:
Diamond Glaze
glass cabochons
tie tack blanks
Super Glue
thick patterned cardstock
small paint brush
vinyl (white)
this Design Space file
Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore Air 2

First, I cut out the circles & tiny vinyl temples with my Cricut. I was surprised that I was able to cut the temples so small. I was impressed with my little cutting machine. :) I stuck the temples on each circle. Now it’s time to make these tacks.

Diamond Glaze is awesome! It cleans up easy as well.

Using the paint brush put a thin layer of the Diamond Glaze on the flat side of your glass cabochon.

Next put your paper circle (temple side facing the glass) into place. Press down hard. You don’t want any air bubbles. Then seal the back with another layer of the Diamond Glaze. Let dry. A hair dryer can speed up the process. ;)

Next, use Super Glue to attach the tie tack backs. Remember a little goes a long way!

Let them dry! Annnnnd you are done. So easy! :)

I also made these cute cards to attach the tie tacks to. I cut 4x5 inch squares with my paper trimmer, and then we glued on these ties that I cut out with my Cricut. Then I added a fun stamp to the bottom. You could even just write a sweet message along the bottom, if you’d like to.

All done! :)

The young women in our ward made the tie tacks & assembled all the cards. We are going to pass them out this Sunday to all the men in our ward along with brownies. Yum! :)
