I am so excited to be taking part in Craft Lightning: Valentine Edition this month!
My kiddos love counting down the days to just about anything! ha! How about yours? On the back of each heart is a fun way to show each other how much we love being together leading up to Valentine’s Day. So fun, right? So let me show you how we made this easy Valentine Countdown in under 15 minutes.
For this project you will need:
red hearts*
paper straws
glue gun & glue
mason jar
fine tip sharpie
*I cut these hearts out using my Silhouette. You could also find similar hearts in just about any craft store.
My 10 year old daughter actually made these. All you have to do is put a little bit of hot glue on the back of the heart. Always be careful when using hot glue!
Then she stuck the straws right on the back. Then let it dry for a second. :)
Next we made a list of 14 things we wanted to do together leading up to Valentine’s Day. :) We wrote one on the back of each heart. My kiddos will take turns picking a heart each day, & then we’ll do that activity.
Here’s our list:
go ice skating
go rock hunting
paint rocks
make cookies
read a book
make a movie
go for a walk
ride our bikes
jump on the trampoline
make a craft
make hot cocoa
make s'mores
make paper snowflakes
play at the park
Of course, make your list unique to your family. Then have some fun! :)
