Handmade Rag Quilts make the best gifts {High Boltage Quilting Review}

Good morning! Recently I was contacted by Michelle from High Boltage Quilting about receiving one of her beautiful rag quilts. Michelle and her mom have made over 100+ handmade rag quilts that they have given away to friends, family members, coworkers and medical personnel. Now they have turned this wonderful hobby into a wonderful shop and are now offering their beautiful handmade rag quilts to everyone.

If you are not sure exactly what a rag quilt is, rag quilts are quilts that have exposed seams that fray when washed. This makes a rag quilt a very cozy quilt that's perfect to curl up in on the couch, lay on the ground outside in the sun or as a throw on in your bedroom. These quilts also make great gifts for new babies, weddings, or as gifts for the upcoming holidays. Let me tell you more about these beautiful quilts! (Just FYI, my daughter is in town this month, and I snagged my two grandsons for this cute rag quilt photo shoot!) :)

The mother/daughter team of High Boltage Quilting love designing these quilts in a wide variety of patterns & colors. In their shop you can find two sizes of quilts both a large size and a smaller throw size. So, you are sure to find the perfect one for yourself or to give as a gift. Right now you can find several fall and winter inspired quilts in their shop! When I received this rag quilt I immediately fell in love! It is so soft & comfortable.

These quilts are made with premium, 100% cotton flannel. This makes these quilts warm, soft & durable. The colors are bright, the quilt is the perfect thickness and so soft! Each stitch is perfect, & I love the frayed edges!

In making these rag quilts, Michelle & her mom use two layers of flannel so the quilt is not too heavy for the warmer areas of the country, but even in cooler weather, these high quality quilts will keep the warmth in because of the double flannel. These quilts will be perfect no matter where you live! This quilt was perfect for a warm fall day at our house. My grandsons are at that age were they don’t want to touch the grass! So, this quilt was the perfect spot for them to enjoy being outside on. :)

Another unique touch is that these rag quilts are sewn with seams at a half inch, and then they are cut very closely to produce the best fringe. These rag quilts also come prewashed and dried a minimum of three times before shipping to start the ragging process. Care is super easy as well once you receive your quilt. Just machine wash and dry cool & low to preserve the beautiful colors of your rag quilt. Also, unlike other rag quilts, the design is shown on both sides of the blanket. I love the polka dots on my quilt. Your rag quilt will be a treasured procession for years to come! :)
