Conference Journal {tutorial}

Good morning! This weekend my church holds it’s semi-annual General Conference. Church leaders including our prophet & apostles speak to us sharing inspired messages that are just for us & you, too. They are timely messages that are truly for everyone. Along with conference weekend, comes many traditions in our family, we always have a big breakfast with yummy breakfast casserole and of course, cinnamon rolls. We then watch conference, and many of us take notes as we listen to the speakers. I usually grab some inexpensive notebooks from the Dollar Tree to use for notetaking. This year I personalized them just a little bit. So I thought I’d share how to make these cute Conference Journal! Let’s get started! :)

If you have no idea what I’m talking about, check out this video! :)

Now let’s get to that tutorial! :)

For this project you will need:

Cricut Smart Paper Sticker Cardstock
Cricut Maker 3
Duck Brand Easy Liner (any design)
Cricut XL scraper tool
vinyl (I used gold.)
transfer tape
this Design Space file
notebook (I found this one at Dollar Tree.)
paper trimmer

First, you will measure your notebook and then cut two pieces of contact paper to fit. Mine was about 4 by 6 inches. I trimmed this with a paper trimmer.

Next, you will remove the backing paper, and then smooth it out using this Cricut tool from one end to the other.

Next I cut out 2 inch by 3 inch rectangle from the sticker paper with my Cricut Maker 3 and put that on the front.

Then I applied my vinyl lettering. That’s it! :)

You could make these as a family, and everyone could customize their notebook exactly how they wanted. :)

I made a bunch for my primary class, too. I teach the 8 turning 9 year olds, and they are awesome!

I challenged them to listen to conference, write down their favorite parts
& we will share with each other the following Sunday what we learned.

I hope you will join us for conference this weekend! :)
