Ginger Snap Crafts: Frosty’s Blue Hot Cocoa {recipe}

Frosty’s Blue Hot Cocoa {recipe}

This post is brought to you by The Jolliest Elf: Lil' Rey.

Good morning! Eek! It’s December! This crazy year has literally flown by! Annnnnd the holidays are already here. I love this time of year, and I love making new memories and following our tried & true traditions with my little family. One of our favorite things to do this time of year is to watch holiday movies or fun shorts and make a treat to go along with it. Recently we were introduced to the holiday short film, The Jolliest Elf: Lil' Rey, and we fell in love with the sweet characters, and we loved the cute message in this short holiday film. We were even inspired by one of the characters, Frosty, to make this yummy Frosty’s Blue Hot Cocoa recipe. So let me tell you more about the short, and share this yummy recipe. Let’s get started! :)

I think about everyone knows that the elves of the North Pole are great at wrapping gifts, tying the perfect bow, and of course, double checking Santa’s list to see who’s been naughty or nice, but did you know elves have all kinds of talents, some of them hidden? At the North Pole you can find singers, dancers, crafters (like me! ha!) and just about any talent you can name! The North Pole has it! :) The Jolliest Elf is the North Pole’s finest competition talent show. It is hosted by the one & only (& a little bit flashy) Mr. Jingles. This talent showcases the elves’ and even small reindeer’s hidden talents for all the world to see! The judges for the fun competition include the North Pole’s brightest super star, Glo, the small but feisty talent scout, Tiny, and Frosty - the lovable chef from Mrs. Claus’ kitchen (who inspired our hot cocoa recipe by the way). ;) This year, all eyes are on our first contestant, Lil Rey - the adorable little reindeer who was rejected from Santa’s sleigh because she couldn’t fly. Lil Rey has a special hidden talent though that is sure to surprise you! You’ll just have to watch to find out! I don’t want to give too much away! :)

Let’s get to that hot cocoa recipe! :)

Frosty’s Blue Hot Cocoa

Frosty is famous around the North Pole for his yummy cookies, but that’s not all he enjoys whipping up in the kitchen! Frosty loves to dip his cookies into an extra large cup of delicious blue hot cocoa!

For this recipe you will need:

Ingredients:

4 cups milk
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
blue food coloring

For topping:

whipped cream
blue sprinkles

In a large saucepan, over medium heat mix together the milk, white chocolate chips, and vanilla extract.

Whisk constantly until chocolate is melted and smooth. Remove from heat.

Add in 1-2 drops of blue food coloring and mix well.

Pour in mugs and top with whipped cream and blue sprinkles. Enjoy! :)

This hot cocoa recipe is sure to hit the spot as your family snuggles up & watches The Jolliest Elf: Lil’ Rey. :)
