Ginger Snap Crafts: take a look {strawberry freezer jam}

take a look {strawberry freezer jam}

Summer time is almost over!  So sad! :(
Just one more week of summer vacation for us,
& then it's back to school & getting up early!
Here's one of our favorite summer recipes!
{strawberry freezer jam}

1. Mash up your strawberries.
A potato masher would be perfect,
but you've gotta use what you have! :)
So I used a spoon.
{Don't mash them too much,
you do want some fruit pieces in your jam!}

2. Add your sugar.

3. Stir the strawberries and sugar until well mixed.
Set aside for 10 minutes.

4. Meanwhile pour your fruit pectin into 1 1/2 cups of water on the stove.
Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring constantly.
Let it boil for 1 minute.

5.  Remove from heat.

6. Add your pectin mixture to your strawberries.
Stir together.

7. Continue stirring for 3 minutes until most of the sugar grains have dissolved.

8.  Pour into your jars.
I have these cute Ball Freezer Jars.
{They're awesome!}
Make sure you leave about 1/2 inch space at the top,
so your jam will have room to expand in the freezer.

9. Cover your containers.
Let the jam sit on the counter for 24 hours to set.

10. Then put them in the freezer until ready to eat.
{Jam can be stored for up to a year in the freezer,
and a month in the refrigerator.}

Enjoy!
